What is a Glaze?

Glazing is when we use a polish that fills or masks minor imperfections in the clear coat rather than cutting or abrading it to remove scratches, swirls and other defects.

This is ideal for cars with known thin paint or where maximum paint preservation is required like classics and vintage cars.

Think of a Glaze like make up+sunblock compared to Paint Correction and Enhancement which is more like plastic surgery.

What to expect From a Glaze/Wax

  • Smoother appearance, shine and gloss
  • A glaze contains either natural and or synthetic waxes
  • 3-9 month longevity can be expected depending on the product applied and after car
  • Can be maintained or boosted with a ceramic spray sealant but it cannot be ceramic coated over.
  • Hence why we dont offer coating upgrades for Glazing.

What’s Included?

The following is included as standard and can be customised.

Exterior washing and detail

Washing

  • We wash a car multiple times during a detail
    • Initial wash as it came.
    • After claying
    • When we do paint correction we even (not included here!) we wash after that to
  • Wheels and arches washed by hand and cleaned as far as can be reached
  • Exhaust washed

Detailing:

  • Tyres, trim dressed with a water based dressing
  • Glass cleaned inside and out
  • Exhaust hand polished for clean and shine not for scratch removal
  • Wheel faces, if the hand polished for clean and shine not for scratch removal.
    • Chrome or high polished wheel lips cannot be restored by this process.

Optional Extra:

Engine bay and wheels off cleaning (where we remove wheels from the car and then clean them)

Interior cleaning

As standard we do a 30 minute interior service that covers a vacuum and wipe down of the dashboard.

If you require more cleaning and detail we can offer the following that can be done in parallel:

  • 1 hour mini detail from R150 extra
  • 4 hour valet from R1250 for sedans/5 seater vehicles
  • Full day Deep Clean from R2000 with 2 staff allocated for one day
Paint Decontamination

As standard we include a 30 minute clay bar session.

Without seeing the car we can’t tell if more clay time or what else may be needed. Often times a car is booked and then we spot issues perhaps unnoticed by the client. In this regard we highly recommend coming by for a free visual inspection prior to booking that way there is no surprises!

We keep a range of fantastic glaze/wax formulas on hand like; Autoglym, Scholl Concepts, Meguiars, Labocosmetica to name but a few. If you have a specific preference let us know. Pricing depends on the product applied.
