Protouch Car Care, based in Lansdowne, Cape Town, is a fixed location detailer (not mobile) with over 19 years of experience in polishing, detailing and paint repairs as well as other related services. We operate from a dedicated detailing garage—not a mobile setup—so we can control the environment for consistent, precision-driven results.

Our Packages

Levels of Polishing

The deeper a paint defect lies within the clear coat, (the top layer of modern automotive paint), more polishing must be done to remove it. This is why we offer different levels of polishing.

This graphic shows that the deeper paint defects are into your paint the polishing or correction it requires.

We offer three categories of polishing and detailing packages, each designed to address different paint conditions:

(1) Paint Correction & Detail:

For cars with clear coat layer scratches, swirl marks and other paint defects. Restores your paint to peak condition.

(2) Paint Enhancement & Detail:

Light grade of polishing to remove light-medium depth swirls and enhance shine and gloss. Ideal to prepare new cars or good condition cars for ceramic coatings or for maintenance.

Can be done over ceramic coatings and PPF to rejuvenate their appearance and boost their protection and water and dirt repellency.

(3) Maintenance Detailing:

This service focuses on the maintenance and preservation of your car’s paint and keeping it looking great.

(3.1) Glazing: Offers a glossy finish with excellent filling properties to to hide scratches and swirls.

What is Paint Correction?

Paint Correction is the detailing industry terminology for polishing and buffing.

Our base Paint Correction service includes a multi-step polishing and buffing process to eliminate paint defects such as scratches and swirl marks from your car’s clear coat.

This process restores the paint’s shine and enhances its gloss, adding depth and reflectivity for a smooth, mirror-like finish.

Advanced Paint Correction & Repairs

We offer additional advanced paint correction as well as paint repair services for any paint defect to deep or deeper than than the clear coat (i.e. you can see base coat, primer, metal or plastic layers).

Paint thickness measurements (Note: We are trained coating inspectors)
Wet sanding: for deeper clear coat scratches and texture (orange peel) removal
Rotary polishing: for deeper clear coat scratch removal and highest gloss and finish.
Paint Repairs: from chip and scratch touch-ups to respraying a whole car
Black textured plastic restoration; re-dye, scratch repair and retexturing
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) – removes dents from accessible metal bodywork without affecting the paint, provided there’s no chipping or scratches in or around the dent. This is done with a third party partner, Farouk Dearham.

What is an Enhancement polish?

- Depending on your vehicles size, detailing requirements, choice of products and how we are applying
- Estimates can be given over the phone with exact pricing confirmed on a visual inspection. Pre-inspections are free!
Duration: From 2- 4 hours per vehicle

Both options works by filling in minor paint imperfections—such as light scratches, swirl marks, and etching—creating a smoother, glossier looking finish. They can also be applied over existing ceramic coatings or Paint Protection Film (PPF) to improve its appearance as well as shine and water repellency.

Exterior Cleaning & Detailing

Initial Wash: Clean paint work readying for clay process
Paint Decontamination – Removes embedded dirt on paint, glass and other gloss surfaces using clay and iron remover
Secondary Wash: To clean off released contamination from the decontamination phase
Deep Inspection: This is relevant to correction only, we go through your paint work intensively in the sun and in our garage to discover any issues if there is any.
Polishing:
- Based on your package, we use the following types of polishes
  - CORRECTION: Compound and medium grade polishes to removes scratches, swirls and other clear coat layer defects as well as enhances gloss on all paint hardness and colours. Best for black.
  - ENHANCEMENT: Light polishing to remove light-medium depth clear coat layer swirls and to enhance gloss.
  - POLISH & CERAMIC SEALANT: We have several polish (light-medium grade) and ceramic sealants combo’s
  - GLAZING: Mask/hide/fill light-medium depth swirls and scratches without cutting paint.
- All gloss surfaces are polished with the respective polishing level you’ve chosen.
- Surfaces we include in polishing:
  1. All Paint work
  2. Painted trims: for example piano black, side mirrors, pillars, mouldings etc
  3. Glass (not for scratch removal – for shine and protection)
  4. Chrome (not for scratch removal – for shine and protection)
  5. Head and Tail lights (not for scratch removal – for shine and protection)
  6. Door jambs is hand polished (not for scratch removal – for shine and protection)
Final Wash – Extra wash after correction to remove polishing dust
Paint Protection – 1 Year Ceramic sealant or glaze if you choose is applied. Upgradeable to a Ceramic Coating.
Tyres & Trim – Cleaned and dressed
Sunroof – Opened and wiped to remove polish residue
Engine Bay – Wiped by hand (not a deep clean, not suitable for heavy dust or dirt)
Wheels – Cleaned by hand with soft brushes or microfibre; calipers cleaned where reachable (brake disks untouched)
- Upgrade Option: Wheels-off cleaning and wheel arch detail from R1500 (without ceramic coating) or from R4000 (with CERAMIC PRO WHEEL coating).
Wheel Arches – Cleaned as far as accessible
Door & Window Rubbers – Cleaned and conditioned
Exhaust:
- Cleaned and hand polished for shine and protection.
- If exhausts are bad it would require extra sanding and or heavy polishing.

Interior Cleaning & Detailing

Basic clean

As standard with all our polishing and detail packages we include up to 1 man-hour

Interior blown out, brushed, vacuumed, and wiped with Labocosmetica OMNIA (cleaner and protectant). Includes detailed cleaning of vents, console, and more within the allocated time.

Interior Upgrade Options:

Full Valet (4-5 hours)

Seat cleaning and carpet shampoo.
Autoglym Interior Shampoo is used through out the interior as well as quality local products.
Starts at R1000. Final cost depends on vehicle condition.

Interior Deep Clean & Detail (8-hour same-day service)

Includes seat removal and intensive cleaning using premium international detailing products only.
Starts at R1750. Final cost depends on vehicle condition.
