Post updated 2022
This Maserati Quattroporte was the first car I did for Viglietti Motors, who at the time (in 2008) was the official and sole importers of Ferrari and Maserati.
Just before writing this post (in 2014), I drove a friend’s one, and whoa what a glorious sound it makes! When I dropped the ‘Maser’ off (short for Maserati and I know it sounds like Mother 😉 ), a group of guys all owning supercars, i.e. Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Ferrari 458 Italia, Nissan Skyline R35, etc were having a conversation comparing fuel spend… Certainly, a conversation like that behooves ownership of such vehicles, but of interest to the mere mortal, the average spend these guys were mentioning (at the time 2014) is R1000 a day …
Proof that you simply cannot put a price on happiness …
Back to the Viglietti Maserati Quattroporte
After I had done this car, the client was very impressed telling the Viglietti staff that his car looked better than when he first bought it from them!
That comment led to me doing their work until the company was sold in 2010 and became Scuderia South Africa for the Ferrari brand and separately Maserati Cape Town (which eventually closed down).
Please Note: The photographs taken were with a blackberry, which around 2009 was state of the art and now clearly very poor by today’s standards 🙂
